Well it has been 10 days and our provider still has not got our server back-up. Currently we have 2 temporary forums up and running. The primary backup can be found at http://getoffmylawn.freeforums.org/ and the LOTRO chapter is making its temp home at http://underthebanner.com/forums/. I’d like to five you all more information on what the future has for us, but I really have nothing to pass on. Our host has restored most of its servers, but still has its 3rd node down. While we have backups, some appear to be corrupted. No matter what we will get it backup and rebuild one way or another.
I have learned that my guild mate and LOTRO friend Iridar (Robert Ward) from my Thursday night static group, passed away this morning at 1:30 AM Eastern Time.
Iridar (Robert Ward) was a member of The Old Timers Guild, a large multi game guild with a large presence in LotRO. Iri became sick a few weeks ago which led him to an extended hospital stay where it was discovered to be cancer. After diagnosis and treatment things looked like they where turning for the better. Iri even had a chance to post on the OTG forums. That night however he suffered a heart attack. He was found with no pulse and unresponsive. This morning they removed life support.
Please be in prayer for Iri’s family, he leaves behind his wife, Catiana (Cathrine) also a member of OTG’s LotRO chapter, and children. He will be missed.
OTG will be holding an event and more details will come forth with information about support.
(Please leave well wishes on the main LotRO forum or on the OTG backup forums)
For all OTG members. The emote of the month has been changed to /mourn to remember our friend.
The Old Timers Guild (OTG) website is down. OTG is a large online gaming guild. When I started playing Lord of the Rings Online (LOTRO) I went hunting for a guild to join and came across OTG. I fell in love with their moto (“Laid back, casual, no drama. Just fun!”) and soon joined.
